Common Virus Extensions
If you receive an email attachment with any of the following
file extensions at the end you should take a closer look at it before you open
it. At the very least make sure it is not on our list of known viruses and
make sure you are running Norton Antivirus. The best rule to follow is if you
are not absolutely sure it is safe, don't open it. Following is a list of file
extensions that often have viruses in the, the extension of a file refers to
the last three letters after the period in the file name (i.e. the file
word.doc has the file extension of .doc).
Note: Not all viruses have extensions of
these types. This is just a list of common types.
